What should I wear?
Massage is traditionally performed on bare skin, but only
the specific area being worked on is exposed at any time --
an arm, a leg, your back. Areas that you would not
bare at the beach are never exposed or worked on. If you
feel more comfortable leaving your
underwear on, you may certainly do so.
You will have privacy before your massage to undress and
get underneath the sheet on the massage table. You will will
have privacy afterward to dress.
What can I expect?
A
clean, comfortable, serene, and safe massage environment:
all equipment is sanitized; lighting, music, and
temperature can be adjusted to suit you.
Privacy and confidentiality: On your first visit, I will
give you a brief medical history form to fill out. However,
intake information and session details will be shared with a
third party only upon your written request.
Open treatment: I do not discriminate on the grounds of age,
gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion,
socio-economic status, political affiliation, physical
limitation, or body type
Specifics
Try not to eat a full meal within two hours of your massage.
If you have time, a shower prior to your session may help
you relax in advance.
Be prepared to remove your watch and other jewelry.
The session can be customized to conform to your
specific requirements. This is your time, so please don't
hesitate to let me know what you would like the session to
include. If lying in some position is not comfortable for
you, let me know: there are always alternatives.
During the session, I may check in with you a few times to
make sure you are comfortable. I welcome questions and
feedback before, during, and after the session.
Breath is an important component of bodywork. I generally
tell my clients to focus on their breathing during the
massage. Give yourself permission to relax and let go of
stress and tension; with each breath, allow yourself to melt
into the table.
After your massage, try to allow yourself some time to
readjust to your regularly scheduled programming! Keep well
hydrated, and if possible, do some gentle stretches before
bed.
